When I submitted my article for the April edition of the newsletter I commented that February had been very strong (the best since 2012), and March was off to a good start. Well, it ended up being really strong.
Some new highlights:
- Transactions through the end of March were up 74% to 33 (vs. 19 in 2017), and also the best since 2012 (also 33). This is an impressive spike in activity.
- Median sold price vs. the same period in 2017 is up 11% to $1.14M. This is less than what I noted in my earlier article, but expected as the number of transactions increases.
- Median sold $ / sq ft is up 1% ($424 vs. $420)
- Days on Market (median) is down 47% vs. 2017 to 33 days

Note: All data comes from the Austin Board of Realtors’ MLS report, reflecting activity through March 31, 2018.
